The iShares MSCI Global Metals Mining Producers ETF is seeing unusually high volume in afternoon trading Friday, with over 427,000 shares traded versus three month average volume of about 117,000. Shares of PICK were up about 0.7% on the day.
Components of that ETF with the highest volume on Friday were United States Steel, trading down about 0.6% with over 9.6 million shares changing hands so far this session, and AK Steel Holding, down about 0.6% on volume of over 7.3 million shares. Century Aluminum is the component faring the best Friday, up by about 2.8% on the day, while Mechel is lagging other components of the iShares MSCI Global Metals Mining Producers ETF, trading lower by about 3%.
