He found light through the darkness, though.

Ryan Lochte felt he had lost everything after his Rio Olympics robbery scandal, and in a new interview with ESPN, the athlete revealed he contemplated suicide in the months after the incident.

“There were a couple of points where I was crying, thinking, ‘If I go to bed and never wake up, fine.’ I was about to hang up my entire life,” he confessed.

Not quite, says the Olympian.

“To be clear, yes I was in a very dark place after Rio, but I never thought about taking my own life. That’s the media twisting what I told ESPN. I would never do that. That’s not me. I’m a fighter, always have been, and always will be. I knew that I would do whatever necessary to get through that horrible time, and most importantly to once again earn the trust of my friends, family, and the public, who have always been so supportive of me,” he told TMZ.

The swimmer was suspended from the sport for ten months and lost millions of dollars in sponsorships, but found his way back with a stint on Dancing with the Stars, followed by the news that his fiancee Kayla Rae Reid was pregnant.

The two are set to become parents any day now, and the former Playboy model is ready! She posted the below Instagram of her huge baby bump, and it seems like their little one is ready for his big debut!

⏳🕰⏰ I feel like I’ve been pregnant for 3 years.
