May 17 (UPI) — Selena Gomez is teasing her new song “Bad Liar” ahead of its release this week.
The 24-year-old singer and actress shared a clip and a promo image for the single with her 120 million Instagram followers Tuesday.
The four-second clip samples the Talking Heads song “Psycho Killer,” while the promo image features a makeup-free Gomez with a hospital bracelet and a bandage on her wrist.
Gomez previously posted a photo of herself with “Bad Liar” written in lipstick on her leg, and a series of pictures with the lyrics “Trying not to think about you,” “Trying to play it coy” and “Trying to distract myself.”
“Bad Liar” will debut Thursday. Gomez, who last released the single “It Ain’t Me” with Kygo in February, is working on a followup to her 2015 album Revival after a months-long retreat from the spotlight in 2016.
“My self-esteem was shot,” the star confessed in the April issue of Vogue. “I was depressed, anxious. I started to have panic attacks right before getting onstage, or right after leaving the stage. Basically I felt I wasn’t good enough, wasn’t capable.”

Gomez is also working on a second season of the Netflix series 13 Reasons Why. The singer, who executive produced the first season, confirmed this month that the show was renewed.
