‘Wonder Woman’ details her origin in movie preview

May 2 (UPI) — A sneak peek for Warner Bros. upcoming superhero epic Wonder Woman offers insights into the origins of the warrior princess, who was raised as an Amazon on Themyscira.

The preview was released Monday along with Fox’s Batman-themed drama Gotham.

“I had no father. I was brought to life by Zeus,” she tells Trevor, explain why she has never seen a man before.

“The gods made the Amazons to restore peace to the world. It’s what I’m going to do,” Wonder Woman continues in another scene before heading into battle.

Directed by Patty Jenkins, Wonder Woman arrives in theaters June 2.

“Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior,” the synopsis reads.

“Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers…and her true destiny.”
