‘All My Children’ vet Larkin Malloy dies at age 62

NEW YORK, Oct. 1 (UPI) — Soap star and acting coach Larkin Malloy has died of complications from a heart attack. He was 62.

The New York native was best known for his work on All My Children, Loving, The Edge of Night and Guiding Light. His additional credits include Law Order and Big Daddy.

Malloy’s former All My Children co-star Walt Willey expressed on Facebook Friday his grief over Malloy’s death.

“Just got word that Larkin Malloy, who played my brother ‘Travis’ on All My Children, died of complications from a heart attack he suffered on Saturday. Larkin Malloy welcomed me like a brother when I joined the cast in 1987,” Willey’s message said. “We worked together, did appearances together, partied together, vacationed together. He was an ‘actor’s actor,’ spending many years teaching the craft, and a gentleman in the old world style. We spent many hours together, both on set and off, and truly were ‘Irish brothers from another mother.’ Tommy, you will be missed. Love you, brother. ‘For in that sleep of death, what dreams may come.’ Hamlet.”
