‘Friday Night Lights’: Connie Britton, Kyle Chandler reunite

LOS ANGELES, Sept. 19 (UPI) — Friday Night Lights stars Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler delighted fans by reuniting Sunday.

The 49-year-old actress and 51-year-old actor, who played spouses Tami and Eric Taylor on the NBC and 101 Network series, posed for a photo at the 2016 Primetime Emmy Awards.

“Reunited. #Emmys #fnl #blurry,” Britton captioned a picture of herself with her former co-star.

Britton had wished Chandler happy birthday and good luck in a different post prior to the Emmys. The actor was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for portraying John Rayburn on Bloodline.

“Happy belated birthday to my ex tv husband Kyle Chandler! You’ll always be Coach to me. Wishing you birthday trophies tonight. #Emmys #cleareyesfullhearts,” she wrote.

Jeffrey Tambor of Transparent beat out Chandler for the award, although Bloodline star Ben Mendelsohn took home Outstanding Supporting Actor. Britton, who played Faye Resnick on The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, watched the show win five awards, including Outstanding Limited Series.

Friday Night Lights, which followed a fictional high school football team, had a five-season run on NBC and 101 Network from 2006 to 2011. The cast had reunited at ATX Festival in the spring to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the show’s premiere.
