‘SNL’ star Pete Davidson pays tribute to his dad, who died in 9/11 terror attacks

NEW YORK, Sept. 11 (UPI) — Saturday Night Live cast member Pete Davidson took to social media this weekend to pay tribute to his late dad, a firefighter killed in the Sept. 11, 2001 terror attacks on New York.

“One of my dads homies gave me his old dirty ass boots from work and a sick photo of him lookin like a young legend !!! Apparently my dad wore sketchers how [expletive] embarrassing!!” Davidson joked in an Instagram post Sunday.

The message captioned a photo of his father Scott’s shoes, as well as a framed, 1993 image of the elder Davidson, smiling and pouring a beer into a glass.

The day before, Davidson shared a photo of him as a toddler with his dad. Both have bottles of Heineken beer to their lips.

“Can’t believe tomorrow is going to be 15 years. Missing the legend !!! Thank u all for ur kind words and support as always #werememberthem,” the 22-year-old comedian said.
