PINELLAS PARK, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pinellas County Uber driver was charged with loitering and prowling after St. Petersburg police say he tampered with the window of a condo where he had dropped off two females earlier.

Investigators say Uber driver Christopher Thomas Cuccorillo, 40, had dropped off two young females at a condo on 3rd Avenue North in St. Petersburg around 3:50 a.m. on Sunday.

About an hour later, a witness heard Cuccorillo in the back of the condo building tampering with the rear window of the condo and saw him walking back and forth in the back area.

Police said the area is secured with a 6-ft. wooden fence and has a gate. The area is not in public view or open to the public.

Cuccorillo told police he was checking on the females at their request due to their intoxication.

Police say they spoke with one of the females, who said that they did not make that request.

Cuccorillo changed his story several times when speaking to officers, according to an arrest affidavit.

He was arrested and booked into the Pinellas County Jail on a charge of loitering and prowling.

Cuccorillo is no longer employed at Uber. An Uber spokesperson released the following statement to WFLA: “We have zero tolerance for the type of behavior described. We have permanently removed this individual’s access to the platform.”
