Jason Pierre-Paul on Josh Brown: Why should he be cut?

Giants defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul does not believe kicker Josh Brown should be released, he told reporters Monday.

Brown has been mired in controversy since it was revealed his one-game suspension stemmed from a domestic violence arrest last year. The charges against Brown were dropped, though his now ex-wife has accused him of being physically violent over 20 times.

The Giants signed kicker Randy Bullock on Monday, but Pierre-Paul believes Brown should remain on the team. Via the New York Daily News:

“Why should he be cut?” Pierre-Paul said when asked Monday about the possibility of the Giants releasing Brown.

When a reporter responded with the allegations of over 20 instances of domestic violence, Pierre-Paul said, “Who knows. You wasn’t there.”

Pierre-Paul told reporters he has not spoken to Brown directly about his situation. The NFL suspended the kicker only one game, citing a lack of evidence as the reason for not levying a harsher punishment.
