Justin Timberlake shared a short and heartfelt message mourning the death of his former ‘NSync manager, Lou Pearlman, who died in prison on Friday.

“I hope he found some peace,” JT tweeted tweeted on Sunday. “God bless and RIP, Lou Pearlman.” Timberlake’s former bandmate Lance Bass added, “Word is that #LouPearlman has passed away. He might not have been a stand-up businessman, but I wouldn’t be doing what I love today w/out his influence. RIP Lou.”

The record producer was serving a 25-year prison sentence for his involvement in a Ponzi scheme that scammed 1,700 investors out of a half a billion dollars. Pearlman, who was 62 at the time of his death, was also the subject of an expose in the October 2007 issue of Vanity Fair, which had allegations of sexual harassment and molestation from a handful of former and aspiring singers.

Pearlman, who also worked with bands like Backstreet Boys, LFO and O-Town, denied the claims in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter in 2014.
