UFC President Dana White: Lawsuit in works after wild UFC 202 presser

UFC President Dana White says that there is a lawsuit that will be filed in the aftermath of a pre-fight press conference for UFC 202 in which welterweights Nate Diaz and Conor McGregor started throwing water bottles and other objects at each other.

While no one has come forward to say they were hit with anything, White says he believes a spectator was hit and a lawsuit is pending.

“The word is in this thing somebody was injured so there’s going to be a lawsuit,” White told TMZ. “Who knows how it’s all going to play out. Somebody’s filing a lawsuit. The wheels are already in motion on it.”

White says that Diaz and McGregor also face repercussions because of the incident.

“They’re both getting punished,” White said. “What everybody’s got to understand is we’re overseen by the Nevada State Athletic Commission. I guarantee both of these guys are gonna get massive fines and there’s probably going to be a hearing after the fight.”

“It’s going to cost them both a lot of money, a lot of headache and hassle. They’re both in big trouble,” White added.

The anticipated rematch will take place Saturday at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. Diaz (20-10) beat submitted McGregor (19-3) by a rear-naked choke in UFC 196.
