Giants kicker Josh Brown suspended for Week 1

Giants kicker Josh Brown has been suspended for Week 1 of the regular season for violating the league’s personal conduct policy, the team announced Wednesday.

Brown re-signed with the Giants on a two-year contract earlier this off-season. He made 30 of 32 field goals in 2015, the highest conversion rate in franchise history on at least 11 attempts.

“While I do not agree with the suspension, I will accept it,” Brown said in a statement. “I have exhausted the appeals process and have no other options along those lines.”

Brown will miss the Giants’ opening game against the Dallas Cowboys. He will still be allowed to participate in practice and games through the preseason.

Brown is second all-time in field goal percentage in Giants history.
