CLEVELAND, Tenn., Aug. 15 (UPI) — A Tennessee university choir ended up giving an impromptu close-quarters performance when flight attendants on their Delta plane requested a song.
A video posted to Facebook by the Lee University Campus Choir shows the group performing a song Tuesday while awaiting takeoff for a flight to the British Virgin Islands.
“On our way to the Islands, our flight attendants found out we were in a choir and asked us to sing,” Lee University Senior Anna Huffstutler told WTVC-TV. “I just happened to pull out my phone in time to capture it before our flight took off.”
“Boarding the plane, we had no intentions of singing at all,” she said. “But when the flight attendants learned that we were a college choir, they immediately began asking us.”
The video of the performance has been shared more than 1,000 times on Facebook.
“Thank you, Delta, for getting us to our destination safely. We had a fantastic flight!” the choir said in a comment on the video.
