Georgia police officer shot, wounded at apartment complex; suspects in custody

A Marietta, Georgia police officer was injured in a shooting early Sunday morning, after responding to reports of someone breaking into vehicles.

The shooting happened just before 4:30 a.m. at the Gallery Apartments in Marietta.

Police said three officers went to the scene and found two juvenile suspects inside a vehicle. One of those suspects fired at the officers, and one of the officers was hit.

The officers returned fire, and one of the suspects was shot, according to police.

Officers were able to arrest both suspects after the shooting.

The injured officer and the injured suspect were taken to the hospital. Both were expected to recover, police said.
