Hillary Clinton finally spoke at the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night to accept the presidential nomination, and after her daughter Chelsea’s moving introduction plus the screening of a 12-minute video produced by Shonda Rhimes, Clinton addressed healthcare, ISIS, gun control and being there for the American people.

While the majority of her speech wasn’t nearly as exciting as Michelle Obama’s (I mean, can anyone top that?), she did dig in hard to Donald Trump — and the audience ate it up. “Just ask yourself: Does Donald Trump have the temperament to be commander in chief?” she asked. “A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.”

“We begin a new chapter tonight,” Clinton concluded. “Let’s be stronger together, my fellow Americans. Let’s look to the future with courage and confidence. Let’s build a better tomorrow for our beloved children and our beloved country. And when we do, America will be greater than ever.”

As far as celebs, Chloe Grace Moretz took the stage to speak, along with Kareem Abdul-Jabaar, and Demi Lovato and Lance Bass were there as well. Katy Perry opened the show with a performance of her new track “Rise” and her old hit “Roar,” and she gave a short but vibrant speech, which boyfriend Orlando Bloom recorded on his phone. Aww!

“Both of my parents are pastors and staunch Republicans,” Katy told the audience. “I did not finish high school and unfortunately, I don’t have a formal education, but I do have an open mind, and I have a voice. So I am asking you to have an open mind and to use your voice, because on November 8, it will be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist. You will have as much say as any billionaire. … Because it’s not where you come from but what you grow into.” We heart KP…
