An Indianapolis police officer was shot and another was injured Monday after an expressway chase.
Indianapolis police said on Twitter that the officer who was shot has been taken to a hospital and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. The extent of the second officer’s injuries was not immediately disclosed.
The incident began at an apartment complex on the city’s northwest side and a suspect led police along a chase on Interstate 465, Fox 59 reported.
The pursuit ended on the east side of Indianapolis.
Police tweeted that the “suspect has been shot and is down,” adding that there is no threat to the community.
