LONDON, June 27 (UPI) — A defiant giraffe at the London zoo refused to enter its nighttime enclosure at the behest of a keeper, earning a round of applause when it finally surrendered.
A video filmed Friday evening at the London Zoo shows a keeper putting the giraffes into their nighttime enclosures at 9 p.m., but one defiant giraffe refuses the keeper’s commands.
“For about five minutes before I started filming, the giraffe kept ignoring the keeper when he tried to get him to go back into his enclosure,” the filmer wrote online.
“At one one point he even seemed to tease the keeper by pretending to go back in, then refusing to and walking in circles again,” the filmer said. “Eventually, though, he realized the battle was lost and plodded back inside.”
The giraffe earns a round of applause from onlookers when it finally walks into the enclosure.
