Octogenarian Belts Out Drowning Pool’s ‘Bodies’ Karaoke-Style On ‘America’s Got Talent’

America's Got Talent

82-year-old John Hetlinger relived his teen angst years (if they had such a thing in the 1950s) by belting out Drowning Pool’s 2001 heavy metal hit “Bodies” in front of millions of TV viewers on Tuesday night during the second episode of America’s Got Talent‘s 11th season.

Despite the thrill that many had after seeing an octogenarian belt out a tune about life inside a mosh pit, it seems that Heidi Klum was the only judge who hadn’t completely lost her mind, when Howie Mandel, Mel B. and Simon Cowell pushed him through to the next round.

Check it out:

The band loved Hetlinger’s rendition of the tune so much that they’ve given him an open invitation to join them on stage.

“I would love to have him come out onstage and sing a song with us,” Drowning Pool guitarist C.J. Pierce told Billboard.com. “We invite a lot of people on the stage. That song has been great for us. It’s such a fun song to play. We had a guest onstage with us last week, Aidan Fisher; he is 13 years old and plays guitar. He was amazing, so we had him up to play ‘Bodies.’ So I would love to have John up there singing a song with us.”

Surprisingly enough Hetlinger was able to keep his own body from hitting the floor.

One can only imagine what he’s got planned for round two.

He’s no Christopher Lee, that’s for sure.
