A source close to Depp told People Magazine, “With Amber, there has been nonstop drama.”
“[Johnny and Amber] are just not good together. They had lots of problems before they got married, and should have never gotten married. Their personalities are just not compatible,” the source continued.
Soon after filing for divorce from Depp, Heard has filed that the actor had abused her.
After filing documents stating there was domestic violence in their marriage, Heard was granted a temporary restraining order against the actor.
Heard charged that Depp abused her through their four-year relationship.
The couple was married for 15-months.
The actress stated in her filing that the actor hit her with a cell phone and pulled her hair on May 21.
Police officers were called to the couple’s home, but determined, according to an LAPD spokesperson that there was “no evidence of any crime.”
“After the recent drama, people close to Johnny feel a divorce is the best outcome,” a source close to Depp remarked to People.
“This has been incredibly upsetting for Amber but she knows she is doing the right thing,” a source said to E! News. “It has been very traumatic for her to finally speak out, but she needs to do what she can to protect herself.”
“Given the brevity of this marriage and the most recent and tragic loss of his mother, Johnny will not respond to any of the salacious false stories, gossip, misinformation and lies about his personal life,” Depp’s rep told E! News. “Hopefully, the dissolution of this short marriage will be resolved quickly.”
Depp currently stars in the sequel to the film “Alice In Wonderland” titled “Alice Through The Looking Glass,” where he plays The Mad Hatter.
