The Dancing with the Stars Season 22 winner has been crowned! Another fun-filled season of ABC’s ballroom dance competition came to an end on Tuesday night and all three couples impressed the judges with their final dances, but it was a combination of votes and scores from the two-night finale that determined the winner of the coveted Mirrorball trophy.
The final performance of the season for Nyle, Ginger, and Paige was the 24-hour fusion challenge. The finalists had just one day to learn the routine with their partners Peta, Val, and Mark and they all did an amazing job.

Ginger and Val performance an Argentine Tango/ Foxtrot fusion and received a total score of 27 from the judges, with Bruno noting that “something went wrong” during their performance that kept them from getting a perfect score.
Nyle and Peta’s Cha Cha/Tango fusion was so much fun to watch and the judges’ agreed. They earned first perfect score of the night — a 30 — and Carrie Ann telling Nyle in sign language “Thank you for showing us your beautiful heart when you dance.”
Paige and Mark topped the leaderboard on Monday night, prompting Buddy TV to predict that they would be the Mirrorball trophy winner. They went on to impress the audience and the judges on Tuesday night with their Jive/Salsa fusion, a performance that earned them a perfect 30.
After a night filled with entertainment, including performances by the celebrities who were eliminated throughout the season, it was time for Tom Bergeron to reveal the name of the winning couple.

Val and Ginger took third place, Mark and Paige came in second, and Nyle and Peta were named the DWTS Season 22 winners.
“I can’t believe it! We won the Mirror Ball! This is for 70 MILLION Deaf ppl in the world.
PETA, I LOVE YOU,” Nyle tweeted shortly after his big win.
I CANT BELIEVE IT! WE WON THE MIRROR BALL!

It was not a big surprise to see Nyle and Peta crowned the winners — their performances were amazing throughout the season considering Nyle can’t even hear the vibrations from the music. However, it would be interesting to find out how close Mark and Paige came to winning the Mirrorball trophy — their performances during finals week were perfection.
Season 23 is just a few months away — who would you like to see on the next season of Dancing with the Stars?
