Connacht v Glasgow Warriors (Sat)

Connacht flanker Eoin McKeon

Eoin McKeon’s inclusion is Connacht’s only change from the win over Glasgow two weeks ago

Holders Glasgow Warriors make five changes from the defeat by Connacht two weeks ago for Saturday’s Pro12 semi-final against the same opposition.

Mark Bennett takes over from injured centre Alex Dunbar with Sean Lamont and Henry Pyrgos also in place of Lee Jones and Ali Price in the backs.

Zander Fagerson replaces suspended prop Sila Puafisi with Simone Favaro taking over from Rob Harley in the back row.

Connacht’s sole change has flanker Eoin McKeon replacing Sean O’Brien.

With Denis Buckley ruled out for the remainder of the season by an ankle injury, Ronan Loughney remains in the front row while Ireland international Finlay Bealham has shaken off the knock he picked up two weeks ago and will start.

After their tremendous season, Connacht have home advantage for their first ever Pro12 semi-final but coach Pat Lam says his side will face a huge test against the defending champions.

“We know they will be much stronger than they were two weeks ago but if we channel our physicality and the excitement into our game, we will be able to meet that challenge head on,” said the Connacht coach.

Horne to make 100th Glasgow appearance

Centre Peter Horne will make his 100th Glasgow appearance in the Warriors’ fifth consecutive appearance in the play-offs.

Scrum-half Pyrgos returns after injury ruled him out of the game in Galway two weeks ago.

Favaro’s return to the back row sees Ryan Wilson switching to blindside flanker as Harley drops out of the squad.

Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend appears confident about his team’s prospects of reversing the result from two weeks ago.

“We’ve learnt a lot from the game a fortnight ago and we’re determined to put in a performance of which we can all be proud,” he said.
