Kyle Lowry Throws Shade At LeBron James Ahead Of Raptors, Cavaliers Matchup

Kyle Lowry

The Toronto Raptors blew out the Miami Heat in Game 7 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals for the first time in the franchise’s sad history.

Kyle Lowry put up 35 points to assist in the 116 – 89 victory. The Raptors will meet the Cleveland Cavaliers and LeBron James, who has been waiting to find out who his opponent will be all week.

After the game, Lowry got the postgame interview with ESPN’s Doris Burke. He said that LeBron is “probably one of the best players in the league.”

“LeBron’s probably one of the best players in the league — besides Steph. Kyrie’s a tough matchup, and Kevin Love’s always a tough matchup. But we’re going to go in there and play our game and try to go out there and do our job and see what happens.”

Probably. LeBron’s never been downgraded like that before.

LeBron’s known as a mind games guy. Lowry’s obviously not letting him get him like that.

The comments draw from LeBron’s own words. After Stephen Curry won the MVP award, LeBron said that Curry definitely deserved the award but had some choice words to spin Curry’s achievements in the league.

“But when you talk about most ‘valuable’ then you can have a different conversation, so, take nothing away from him, he’s definitely deserving of that award, for sure,” James said.

James also said that the Golden State Warriors head coach Steve Kerr didn’t deserve the Coach of the Year award.

After that, Lowry saying that Curry’s a better player than LeBron is a checkmate.
