Director Josh Boone has teased the six new characters that will have central roles in his forthcoming “X-Men: New Mutants” movie.
Boone hit Instagram on Tuesday and uploaded images of the New Mutants, a group of “X-Men” characters that includes Blink, Warpath and Sunspot — all of whom played parts in the last installment in the franchise, “X-Men: Days of Future Past” (2014). They were played by Fan Bingbing, Booboo Stewart and Adan Canto, respectively.
The six main mutants in the new film will be comprised of Sunspot, Wolfsbane, Magik, Cannonball, Mirage and Warlock, while Blink and Warpath‘s inclusion is unknown as of yet. Canto will reprise the rold of Roberto da Costa/Sunspot in the film, while “Game of Thrones” star Maisie Williams has signed on to play Rahne Sinclair/Wolfsbane.

Sunspot is a Brazilian who has super strength fueled by sunlight and is able to store solar energy in his body. Wolfsbane is a Scottish girl who could transform into a wolf-like creature (if anyone knows anything about wolves it’s Williams).
Joining them will be Samuel Guthrie/Cannonball, a mild-mannered Kentuckian and eventual co-leader, who can fly at jet-like speeds and is invulnerable while doing so thanks to a force field he creates while doing so. Ilyana Rasputin/Magik is a sorceress and has the ability to teleport.
Dani Moonstar/Mirage has psychic abilities and can manifest people’s fears and desires as illusions. She can also replay events as they happened in particular locales and project them as telepathic images.

Lastly, Warlock is a cybernetic alien from the planet Kvch that can assume any shape. His abilities, according to Wikipedia, includ the ability to infect organic beings and technology with a virus that transforms them into beings like himself. He can also drain the life force from other cybernetic beings.
The cast has yet to be confirmed, however Alexandra Shipp will reprise her role as Storm from this summer’s “X-Men: Apocalypse”.

Boone has finished the second draft of the script, which will carry a “young-adult vibe” according to producer Simon Kinberg. The film has no official release date yet.
