Kirsty Gilmour is guaranteed a medal at the European Championships after reaching the semi-finals.
The 22-year-old Scot beat Spain’s Beatriz Corrales 21-19 22-20 to set up a last four meeting with Denmark’s Anna Thea Madsen.
Gilmour is the second seed, while Madsen, who won silver two years ago, is unseeded in La Roche-sur-Yon.
Number one seed Carolina Marin of Spain meets Danish number three seed Line Kjaersfeldt in the other semi.
“I might be on the podium but the job is not over, I’m not satisfied,” said Gilmour, the 2014 Commonwealth Games silver medallist.
“Here, I am celebrating with every win because anything can happen. It’s round by round and take it game by game.”
