Brittney Griner has admitted to being the legal father of her twins with fellow WNBA player and ex-wife Glory Johnson. She has also agreed to pay child support for the girls.

Griner will pay $2,516 in child support beginning April 1, plus most of the child care expenses for two nannies as her income is about ten times higher than Johnson’s. Griner is the best female player in the world. She plays in the WNBA and also overseas where she makes much more money.

Griner and Johnson got pregnant soon after they got married in May of 2015.

Griner had selected a blond, blue-eyed man as the sperm donor according to Johnson. She then signed off on the papers to be the parent of the children and referred to herself as their father on the children conceived through IVF. Johnson carried the girls.

The day after Johnson announced her pregnancy, Griner filed for an annulment citing fraud. She claimed she didn’t know how long Johnson had been pregnant. She said she didn’t know if the babies were a result of the sperm she had picked or an ex-boyfriend of Johnson’s. Griner implied that Johnson cheated on her with a man, saying she wasn’t sure how Johnson got pregnant.

“At no stage was Brittney pressured to undertake the fertility process,” Johnson’s statement said, in opposition to Griner’s claim that she did not know how long Johnson had been pregnant. “In fact, throughout the entire process, Brittney was a willing participant, consenting and signing all the necessary documents that needed to be signed in order to move forward with the treatments.”

It’s unknown if Griner intends on being involved with the girls outside of being financially responsible for them. A child custody agreement was not discussed.
