Michelle Obama and Hillary Clinton don’t get along, according to a new book released.
Kate Anderson Brower wrote First Women, The Grace And Power Of America’s Modern First Ladies, and claims in it that Hillary and Bill Clinton have rarely been invited by the Obamas to eat dinner at the White House.
AOL News reports that the author doesn’t believe Michelle hasn’t been able to bury the hatchet since 2008.
“I don’t think Michelle has not really been able to bury the hatchet after 2008,” Brower said. “She is not a political person.”
Brower declares in the book that Michelle was “heartbroken” when Vice President Joe Biden decided not to run for president. She writes that it’s because Michelle wanted him to give Hillary to experience the kind of defeat she had when she ran for president in 2008.
“Michelle Obama would stand her nose at Hillary Clinton,” Brower said. “There is a sense that the Clintons are all about money and power, and that the Obamas are about ideals and getting something done.”
According to Brower, the first lady is ready to leave the White House, while Hillary is very political and is aiming to get back into the White House.
“They are totally different people,” Brower said.
The New York Post writes that Brower got her information from a former adviser in the Obama administration.
In one portion of the book, it’s said that Michell once told French first lady Carla Bruni-Sarkozy of her role, “It’s hell. I can’t stand it!”
Michelle purportedly “unwinds” from “prison” by watching “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
The White House debunks claims made in the book by Brower by saying no tension exists between the Obamas and the Clintons. It calls the book’s claims “unequivocally false” and insists that the Obamas and the Clintons have a “warm relationship.”
