‘Deadliest Catch’ Captains Will Shock You On Their Lack Of Celebrity Knowledge

Deadliest Catch

When you spend a lot of time out at sea, your priority isn’t watching “Keeping Up with the Kardashians.”

In a fun video clip, the “Deadliest Catch” captains were asked about today’s biggest names in music and reality television. The answers are hilarious.

Perhaps the most shocking is Capt. Sig Hansen saying he doesn’t know “what an Adele is.” He wanted someone to sing a tune of one of her songs so that it may help him identify her music. When he heard “Hello,” he had no clue. He joked that someone should ask him about Willie Nelson or Paul McCartney because he says those are “no-brainers.”

Relief Capt. Edgar Hansen knows who Taylor Swift is because his 14-year-old daughter listens to her. He didn’t know about her “squad” … dubbing his crew on the Northwestern as his “squad.”

Capt. Sean Dwyer said as far as the Kardashians go, he knows that Kanye West married Kim Kardashian and that they have a kid together named North West.

Capt. “Wild” Bill Wichowski had to think about the Kardashians. He said about six years ago he would have rolled his eyes at them, but notes that he’s impressed how smart they are to cash in the way they do.

Capt. Keith Colburn had no idea who Justin Bieber was, but said he’d love to have his money!

Depending on how you feel about the various celebrities, you might say these “Deadliest Catch” stars aren’t missing out on a whole lot.

Are there any famous celebrities that people have told you don’t know about?

Watch the video below and see for yourself how well these captains know — or really don’t know —  today’s celebrity trivia.

Watch all of these captains risk their lives on the Bering Sea when “Deadliest Catch” airs Tuesday nights at 9 p.m, ET on Discovery.
