CNBC has expanded its reality programming slate with Billion Dollar Buyer, the new series in which hospitality mogul Tilman J. Fertitta travels the country to look for those few vendors who can partner with his impressive portfolio of businesses.
As the chairman and CEO of Landry’s, Inc., Fertitta owns a variety of properties such as Rainforest Cafe, Bubba Gump Shrimp Co., and five Golden Nugget Casinos. In this exclusive clip provided to Starpulse from next week’s episode, he’s in New York scouting a linen company. But will they pass his test?
Watch below as Fertitta relies on the Golden Nugget’s Director of Housekeeping to put Linoto’s handmade linen sheets to the test. When things don’t go as expected, they are faced with a tough decision:
In each hour-long episode of Billion Dollar Buyer, viewers accompany Fertitta as he visits two small businesses with the aim of giving them a big lift up. He’ll test their products, get to know the owners, and find out if they’re a match with Landry’s. In the end, both companies have the opportunity to land a huge new account – or they might walk away empty-handed.
It’s another program in CNBC’s reality television portfolio that’s focused on boosting the hopes of entrepreneurs. The network’s Restaurant Startup offers an investment chance to two culinary hopefuls looking to impress Joe Bastianich (MasterChef), Tim Love (Top Chef Masters) and Elizabeth Blau (Las Vegas entrepreneur).
Meanwhile, The Profit sends Camping World CEO Marcus Lemonis into small businesses that he strives to improve by putting his own time and money on the line. That series is getting a spin-off, The Partner, in which Lemonis will search for someone to join him in all of his small business ventures.
Billion Dollar Buyer airs Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on CNBC.
