Former Ohio State Heisman Trophy winning quarterback Troy Smith was charged with a DUI in Ohio this weekend.
Smith was pulled over at 2:38 a.m. on Sunday morning. Police say he was weaving in and out of lanes.
TMZ Sports came into possession of the dash cam. The video catches Smith telling police he got a degree in “bachelors” when they questioned him about his educational background.
Asked how he’s doing: “I’m officer, sir. I’m officer.”
Asked his highest level of education: “My name is Troy Smith. I graduated from Ohio State with a degree in bachelors.”
Asked to recite the alphabet from C to W: “C. D. E. F. G. H. I. [sigh] [infinite pause]”
The car reportedly smelled of pot. The police say Smith had two blunts in the dash as well as a blood alcohol level of 0.143. He was booked for marijuana and drunk driving and then released without bail to his girlfriend.
Athletes are known for getting special treatment throughout high school and college because of their athletic abilities. It’s rare a player isn’t “smart enough” to get into the college of their choosing. However, Smith’s statement is above and beyond the fake classes and assignments that have been reported for years. He literally has no clue.
Smith is currently a spokesman for a hangover cure drink called Life Support, which he likely needed a lot of this morning.
