It has been a couple of weeks since Joey Feek died, losing her battle with cancer, and her husband, Rory Feek, is still coping with the loss. Rory and the couple’s daughter, Indiana, 2, are learning to live life without Joey, which has been challenging. According to People Magazine, Rory recently blogged about the struggles that he has been going through lately.
“Indy and I are trying to adjust to our new life at home. [We are trying to adjust] to the empty chair at our table and pillow on the other side of my bed, desperately missing Joey and carrying her in our hearts with us everywhere we go,” he wrote.
Rory Feek and Indy are back home in Pottsville, Tennessee, with their beloved Joey buried on the property, which was one of her dying wishes. Another dying wish of Joey’s was for Indy to start school. Rory made that wish come true as well. Rory says that Indy is adjusting really well and is “making lots of new friends.”
It has not been an easy year for the Feek family, but they tried to make the best of things and to share in the positives that they found along the long path they walked. Rory has turned his focus to Indiana and will continue to keep his little girl smiling, while keeping the memory of her mama alive. It’s not going to be easy for Rory and there will undoubtedly be really hard days ahead, but he has proven to be strong and brave, not unlike his late wife.
