Prince William will be missing Easter sunday celebrations with the royal family as he is in Africa on royal duty. According to Us Weekly, William also attended the wedding of Jecca Craig, his ex-girlfriend, on Friday. William went to the wedding stag as Kate Middleton stayed back in Norfolk with the couple’s two children, Prince George, 2, and Princess Charlotte, 11 months.
“Kensington Palace announced this week that the Duke of Cambridge, 33, would be in Kenya from Thursday, March 24 through Easter weekend on Sunday, March 27. Part of Prince William’s visit included a face-to-face meeting with Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta to discuss foreign relations,” Us Weekly reports.
The wedding Prince William attended on Friday was held at the groom’s 55,000-acre family estate, Lewa. Although William was romantically involved with the bride after college, the two remained friends after their split. Apparently there aren’t any hard feelings and nothing is awkward for any parties involved.
“They remained good friends, and Craig even attended Will and Kate’s fairy-tale royal wedding in 2011 with her then-boyfriend, Captain Philip Kaye.”
Although Prince William likely had a great time at the wedding, his royal duties thereafter are forcing him to miss a milestone at home with his family; this is Princess Charlotte’s first Easter. According to Hello Magazine, Duchess Kate will be spending the religious holiday with her family, likely at their home in Berkshire.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be back together by the end of the week. They may decide to do something special as a family at a later time.
