Freddy Maugatai Returns To ‘Deadliest Catch’ Season 12

Deadliest Catch

Freddy Maugatai returns to “Deadliest Catch” season 12. After being fired by Captain Monte Colburn on the Wizard in season 11, things didn’t look good for Freddy, but he’s back and this time he’ll be on a different boat.

Prior to being a crew member on the Wizard, he was a deck hand on Cornelius Marie. He’s now ready to give it another shot on the Time Bandit.

As Discovery writes: “Now the Wizard’s loss is the Time Bandit’s gain. Coming aboard the already crowded deck, Freddy’s expertise at the rail could disrupt the hierarchy established among the young crew. Freddy’s positive energy and spontaneity (he once jumped onto a dead walrus at sea), should fit right in with the Time Bandit.”

Relief Captain Monte Colburn kicked Freddy off the Wizard after feeling disrespected by him. Freddy wasn’t ready to depart with the rest of the crew on the boat for Bairdi and his things were placed on the dock.

How will Freddy’s return work out for him on “Deadliest Catch” season 12? According to spoilers for the show, Discovery tells viewers to “look to Freddy for great positive, and unpredictable, moments on deck.”

The 2-hour premiere of “Deadliest Catch” season 12 airs on Tuesday, March 29 at 9 p.m., ET/PT on the Discovery Channel. Also returning this season is “The Bait,” a weekly one-hour pre-show, beginning at 8 PM ET/PT that gives a sneak peek into the episode ahead. The captains will talk fishing, drama, and what to expect on that evening’s episode of “Deadliest Catch.”
