Bachelor Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell are enjoying life as an engaged couple and have spent the last week in Ben’s hometown of Warsaw, Indiana. After celebrating Ben’s birthday with his family earlier in the week, the couple made their first public appearance at a local fundraiser on Friday night, but they will soon be jetting off to the West Coast.
Find out where Ben and the future Mrs. Higgins are heading next as well the details of their fun night out at the Baker Youth Club fundraiser.
Ben and Lauren were the guests of honor at the Baker Youth Club in Warsaw where one of their one-on-one dates was taped last year. During their media tour in New York, the couple told Good Morning America it was their favorite date on the Bachelor and they were both excited to return for the Friday night’s fundraiser.

This hasn’t been the case with many couples from the Bachelor and Bachelorette. Chris Soules, who lasted only a few months with Whitney Bischoff, went on Dancing with the Stars, Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America and makes frequent promotional appearances.
Bachelorette Kaitlyn Bristowe and her fiance Shawn Booth have been using social media around the clock since they got engaged almost a year ago and do paid promotions for everything from teeth whitening products to dietary supplements.
Whether Ben and Lauren will eventually start promoting products on social media is unknown, but so far they are staying out of the limelight. After their visit in Warsaw, Lauren tells Conde Nast Traveler that they will head to her hometown of Portland, Oregon to visit with her family. Then they’re off to Bloomington, Indiana where Ben will be the Grand Marshall of Indiana University’s Little 500.
Lauren states that Cuba, Costa Rica, and Honduras are on their travel list, but that will depend on their schedule. They will both be heading back to work after they get settled in Ben’s Denver home and will soon start planning their wedding for late 2016 or early 2017.
Only one couple from the Bachelor — Sean Lowe and Catherine Giudici — made it to the altar in 19 seasons (Jason Mesnick doesn’t count!). Perhaps the 20th season is a lucky charm for Ben and Lauren — it appears that they are serious about their relationship, so fans can expect to hear news about their upcoming wedding soon.
