Does JoJo Fletcher really want to find a husband on the upcoming season of the Bachelorette? The creator of ABC’s popular reality show says JoJo is serious about her journey to find love, but her ex-boyfriend, Chad Rookstool says that’s not the case.
Chad and JoJo dated long before she joined the cast of The Bachelor and he made sure Ben Higgins knew about it when he left flowers on her doorstep during the hometown dates episode. Now that she has returned to TV as the Bachelorette, Rookstool is breaking his silence about their relationship, her quest for fame, and her true feelings about Ben.
In an interview with In Touch, Chad revealed that he “snuck around” with JoJo when she finished filming Ben’s season of the Bachelorette back in November. They went back to being “intimate” and when he asked her if she fell in love with Ben, she told him, “‘Chad, come on, you know it was TV.”
If what Chad says is true, it’s totally possible that JoJo’s heartbreak was fake. Blogger Reality Steve stated early on in the season that Ben had his heart set on Lauren Bushnell. Could it be that Ben fell in love too fast and producers needed to shake things up? That would explain why he told two girls he fell in love with them — it was a storyline that really got fans talking.
Rookstool tells In Touch that JoJo told him that she spent many nights during filming questioning her decision to go on the show and they were together “every day” when she returned home from Jamaica. Four months later, she left him again to film the Bachelorette, but told him she “wasn’t saying goodbye forever.”
“It’s so hard for me to picture her as ‘The Bachelorette’ and finding someone else, because she’s a big part of my life and my best friend, but I’m not going to wait for her.”
Although Chad states that this time he will not wait for her and even went so far as to remove the dozen or so photos of her from his Instagram account this week.
However, it won’t be long before she will be back home in Texas — filming for the Bachelorette wraps up in early May. Will JoJo get engaged at the final rose ceremony or will she end up getting back together with Chad Rookstool again?
Fans will find out how things turn out when The Bachelorette Season 12 premiere May 23 on ABC.
