Melania Trump Ad Launches New Level Of GOP War Of Words

Melania Trump was used in a “slut-shaming” ad put out on Monday by the anti-Donald Trump super PAC, Make America Awesome. The ad shows Melania in a 2000 British GQ photo shoot wearing nothing but jewelry. It was targeted to 10,000 Mormons in Utah in an effort to persuade voters to support Ted Cruz.

Buzzfeed reports that Liz Mair, a Republican strategist behind the anti-Trump super PAC, launched the Facebook campaign last week. It’s hard to know if the ad worked at all since Cruz won Utah on Tuesday.

The anti-Trump group ran three ads in all. One featured Mitt Romney, one highlighted Trump’s past support for pro-choice policies, and a third was one of Melania Trump posing nude. The heading read: “Meet Melania Trump. Your next first lady.” At the bottom of the image, it continued: “Or you could support Ted Cruz on Tuesday.”

Donald Trump wasn’t down with the ad and accused Ted Cruz of using Melania to further his political agenda. He took it a step further with Cruz by threatening to expose his wife, Heidi.

Trump tweeted: “Lyin’ Ted Cruz just used a picture of Melania from a G.Q. shoot in his ad. Be careful, Lyin’ Ted, or I will spill the beans on your wife!”

Cruz fired back at Trump in this tweet: “Pic of your wife not from us. Donald, if you try to attack Heidi, you’re more of a coward than I thought. #classless.”

So, now it appears this presidential run has reached a new low in the GOP race, something that didn’t seem possible. Naturally, Donald’s threat has everyone searching the Internet over what he meant by “spilling the beans” about Heidi Cruz.

The Melania Trump ad definitely wasn’t a wise ploy if opponents are screaming about the sexist ways of Donald Trump.
