Melania Trump “begged” her husband, Donald Trump, to act more presidential during his campaign, but he didn’t want to.
According to People magazine, Trump said recently at one of his rallies that his wife and daughter, Ivanka Trump, have “begged” him to conduct himself in a more presidential manner, but he’s not interested in political correctness.
In an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Melania Trump admitted that her husband hears her out when it comes to advice, but does what he wants anyway. She said she doesn’t always agree with her husband’s tactics in his run for the White House, but he’s his own person who goes about things his way.
“I don’t try to change him,” Melania told Cooper. “He’s an adult. He knows the consequences and so I let him be who he is. I give him my opinions many, many times.”
Donald Trump repeated a word that a woman used to describe GOP presidential rival, Ted Cruz. The offensive term was p**sy and Melania hoped he wouldn’t it because it would be all over the news. Sure enough, Trump did it anyway and Melania’s prediction worst fear came true.
“ … I was in New Hampshire when the woman was shouting out the inappropriate word and I was there, and I’m thinking don’t repeat it, in my head for him, don’t repeat it, just don’t say it because the next day, media, all they will talk about is that.”
Melania did share that sometimes Donald takes her advice when he seeks it. She understands the type of person he is and accepts his flaws as well as his strengths.
Donald and Melania Trump are both independent individuals who have a deep respect for each other. Melania is a successful businesswoman in her own right as well. She’s a model and has her own line of jewelry sold on QVC.
