If you have Bumble Bee tuna in your cupboards, check the list below to find out if the canned tuna you have is part of a nationwide recall.
More than 107,000 cans tuna have been recalled this week due to possible sterilization issues. Eating unsanitary tuna may lead to health issues, so don’t open another can until you’re sure the Bumble Bee tuna you have is safe.
The recall involves three different types of Bumble Bee canned tuna (see UPC list and photos below).
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), more than 32,000 cases of tuna have been recalled that were sold in retail stores across the country between February 10 and March 16.
The FDA reports that the issues with the commercial sterilization process “could result in contamination by spoilage organisms or pathogens, which could lead to life-threatening illness if consumed.” There are currently no associated illnesses reported; this is a voluntary recall on the part of Bumble Bee Foods LLC.
Check the UPC numbers listed below (located on the bottom of the cans) to determine if you have the recalled tuna.
