Fort Worth police officer critically wounded in gun-fight

DALLAS A Fort Worth police officer was critically wounded in a gun-fight which erupted after he pulled over two suspects for a traffic stop on Tuesday, police said.

One of the suspects was shot and killed. The other fled and was being pursued, a police spokeswoman said. Police have sealed off roads near the site of the incident.

“We have this area flooded with officers,” police spokeswoman Corporal Tracey Knight told reporters.

The police officer, on the force since 2009, was taken to an area hospital with multiple gunshot wounds, she said.
