Ready, set, go — Game of Thrones is back on HBO, and Season 6 is set to air soon! If you allow us to put in our tuppence; all the usual theatrics are back in the new trailer: sex, violence, betrayal — all what you’d expect in a fantasy drama with elements of alternate histories.
And then, there’s a twist of sorts: According to Gizmodo, Kit Harrington’s character, Jon Snow, is still somewhat obscure about his role for the sixth season; he is still dropping cryptic hints about his fate in Thrones. However, the writing’s on the wall, so to speak.
Spoiler Alert: but not really, sort of — just a tad. Apparently, the show has proven that spilling the beans is not what it used to be ahead of a TV series’ premiere. So, here goes.
For whatever it’s worth, the trailer gets two thumbs up for Chris Isaak’s “Wicked Game” hit (done up with an acoustic guitar).
Snow has been on a tear; he’s been getting into fans’ heads with talk about his death, return (resurrection? Well, not quite) for another round of Game of Thrones. On a recent series of interviews, Harrington didn’t let on much in the way of deep spoilers, but here’s a biggie: he’s back in Season 6, in a morbid kind of way.

Thrones fans all know Snow — rather, Harrington — was spied several times around Belfast, Ireland in the latter part of 2015 — in the area where “GOT” was filmed. Early on during a chat with Time Out London, Jon denied returning to the cast for another go. Then, he let the cat out the bag: he’s back — at least the part of him, minus a pulse.
“I filmed some scenes of me being dead. It’s some of my best work.”
Whatever that means, right? Like, how can he be “dead,” but back in the lineup? That’s the $25,000 question.
On who’s returning along with Harrington’s corpse, ahem, character, EOnline reports that familiar faces re-upped for another season. Alfie Allen, Gwendoline Christie, Conleth HillPeter Dinklage, Emilia Clarke, Lena Headey, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Natalie Dormer, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Jonathan Pryce, John Bradley, Isaac Hempstead Wright, and Diana Rigg are returning for more Game of Thrones drama.
Now, if HBO can only put a stop to the mass pirating of the cult flick. Reportedly, last year alone, there were over 14 million illegal Game of Thrones downloads.
