John Goodman On ‘Roseanne’ Reboot: ‘Hell Yeah!’

John Goodman recently gave an interview to The Insider With Yahoo to promote his new movie ’10 Cloverfield Lane’ but the publication’s biggest takeaway from the interview is that Goodman would totally be up for bringing back his popular 90s sitcom, ‘Roseanne’.

“[Roseanne Barr] and I tried to do a show for NBC about people in a trailer park about six years ago,” he recalled. “They didn’t like it, but it was just falling out of bed working with her. It was so easy.”

He then said he is hopeful that he and his old co-star can work together someday to bring back ‘Roseanne’. The Insider brought up the topic by asking Goodman if he would be interested in a reboot like the one Netflix gave to ‘Fuller House.’ Goodman was very direct with his answer.

“Hell yeah!” he said. “It would be great to figure out a way to do it.”

Reboots of old shows seem to be a thing these days, and there’s been a heavy emphasis on bringing back shows from the 90s.

In addition to ‘Fuller House’, which is a sequel of sorts to the much-beloved ‘Full House’, a lot of attention was given to the six-episode return of ‘The X-Files’ on Fox in January, starring David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson. Other shows and films that have been revived or will be coming soon include ‘Gilmore Girls’, ‘Twin Peaks’, ‘The Powerpuff Girls,’ ‘Ducktales’ and ‘Coach.’

TVLine reported last August that Will Smith is working on a possible ‘Fresh Prince of Bel-Air’ reboot as well.

The possibility of a ‘Roseanne’ reboot wasn’t the only headline that Goodman made this week. He also generated news during an appearance on ‘The Howard Stern Show’ by telling a story about an awkward encounter he had with actress Kristen Wiig.

Goodman said he went up to talk to Wiig at a party but interrupted her while she was speaking to someone else.

I think she’s so great, and the social barriers broke down and I interrupted the conversation,” he revealed, according to Vulture. “And I would just hate for somebody to do that to me. And she goes, ‘Yeah, I’ll talk to you in a minute.'” Goodman then made the sound of a bomb exploding. “I really like her, and it was embarrassing, so I’ll never speak to her again.”
