World number one Jordan Spieth missed the halfway cut at the Northern Trust Open in California at five over par, despite a three-under second-round 68.
American Spieth shot an eight-over-par 79 on Thursday – the worst opening round of his career.
“I’m not going to let this one get to me very much,” said Spieth who mixed eight birdies with five bogeys.
“I can take positives out of the round. We rebounded in perfect form last year on just about every missed cut.”
