A former contestant of “The Bachelor” died from an apparent suicide over the weekend in Columbus, Ohio. Lex McAllister, who appeared on season 14 of “The Bachelor” with Jake Pavelka as the lead, died from an overdose.
TMZ reports that McAllister’s death was the result of suicide, according to authorities and her family.
Lex wasn’t on the show long. She was eliminated after the first week. She stirred up trouble after speaking out about Jake’s breakup with “Bachelor” winner, Vienna Girardi. She said the breakup wasn’t Vienna’s fault.

Law enforcement sources in Columbus received a 911 call Saturday at around 2 p.m. with the caller stating that Lex had texted her earlier that day saying she wanted to “end her life.” The caller then went to check on her and it appeared Lex McAllister had overdosed on prescription pills.
According to USA Today, the caller was an unidentified friend.
The former “Bachelor” contestant was taken to a hospital in stable condition but, her body started to shut down. By Tuesday morning, McAllister’s family agreed to stop life support and Lex died.
A family member said Lex struggled with depression and bipolar disorder. Lex McAllister was 31-years-old.
Jake Pavelka reacted to Lex’s death by tweeting: “Im so sad to hear about Alexa. Such a beautiful girl. My heart breaks for her family. Covering them in prayer during this rough time.”
This is the second contestant of that particular season of “The Bachelor” to kill herself. Gia Allemand, also appeared as a contestant on Jake’s season of the show. She committed suicide in 2013 by hanging herself with a vacuum cleaner cord from a staircase at her home in New Orleans.
