Transgender actor Chaz Bono has landed a role on the daytime drama “The Bold and the Beautiful.” He will play a minister in episodes airing on March 31 and April 1.
The reality TV star and activist told People in a statement, “I’m very excited to have been cast. I’m grateful that they are willing to pay me to do something I love, which is to act.”
Bono teased the news that he had something big on the horizon on Twitter on Wednesday.

Cher and Sonny Bono are his parents. He was born female as Chastity Sun Bono in 1969. Bono came out as a lesbian in 1995 and then officially underwent gender reassignment in 2010.
Bono competed on “Dancing With The Stars” and has appeared in the documentary “Becoming Chaz.”
