Former WWE wrestler CM Punk signed with the UFC in 2014 after a really bad breakup with the wrestling company. And, he doesn’t want to talk about it. Complex reporter Kevin Wong learned that the hard way when Punk became upset over some WWE questions during an interview.
Punk sat down for an interview with Wong last month at a New Jersey Devils’ hockey game. Wong says that Punk was agitated prior to the interview and showed no desire to speak with him. He continued on despite Punk’s attitude.
Wong asked if Punk ever considered returning to the WWE like former UFC heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar.
Punk responded to Wong, saying.
I don’t feel like fielding questions about [the WWE]. I’ve been there, I’ve done that, and I’ve accomplished everything I was going to.
Wong also asked him if he’s nervous to compete in a real sport, instead of one that is fake and pre-determined.
I get this question a lot, and it’s like you guys think I’m an idiot. Like I didn’t know MMA wasn’t pre-determined or something like that.
As the interview moved forward, Punk became more and more upset. At one point, Wong said that he didn’t mean to put Punk on the defensive.
To this, Punk said.
I’m not on the defensive. Your question is insulting. You’re asking me if I know the difference between the WWE and the UFC?
Gall called Punk on Dana White’s reality show “Dana White: Lookin’ for a Fight.”
“Punk was the only guy in the UFC I could fight. If I called out anyone else, they’d laugh at me,” Gall said. “I had to try it. I didn’t know the next time I was going to be in the same room with Dana White.”
The fight will happen later this year if Gall wins.
