Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio will forever remind the world of their roles together in “Titanic” back in 1997. The famous Hollywood stars remain close after all of these years despite co-starring in just one other movie in 2008 – “Revolutionary Road.”
In People magazine’s latest issue, Kate Winslet talks about Leo DiCaprio and how she feels about him as both a friend and actor. She’s backing him to win his Oscar nomination for his lead role in “The Revenant.”
The 40-year-old actress says DiCaprio, 41, has changed in some respects since they starred in “Titanic,” but is also still the same in many ways.
“He’s a solid, loyal person,” Winslet says. “He’s a great friend, he always has been, and not just to me, but to everyone around him. He still has friends he had when we made ‘Titanic.'”
Kate Winslet continues that in many ways Leo DiCaprio “hasn’t changed a bit, but in other ways he absolutely has changed.” She mentions that he’s a “stronger actor” more now than he’s ever been … on top of being “more handsome than he’s ever been.” She gets a sense that he’s the “most settled he’s ever felt in himself.” The star notes that’s a little strange considering how much is happening to him right now.
DiCaprio has said some kind things about Winslet himself. He told Entertainment Tonight a few years ago that they just really like each other as people and they love to laugh about their love scenes. He explains that he and Winslet have great chemistry together on-screen.
According to Pop Sugar, Leonardo DiCaprio has also complimented Kate Winslet by saying she’s the “best actor of her generation.”
The two stars strongly support one another and remain good friends, which fans enjoy seeing. Their epic roles on “Titanic” have them infinitely tied together in the hearts of moviegoers.
