Newly engaged Mariah Carey and her fiance James Packer are leasing a home in The Oaks, a gated community in Calabasas, Calif., and the price tag isn’t cheap. According to TMZ, the couple is leasing the 18,000-square-foot property for a whopping $250,000 a month.
A source told the website that the pair wanted to live in a “family friendly” area, particularly because the singer takes care of her and ex Nick Cannon’s twins full time.
The Calabasas estate includes “sweeping views” and stones imported from Italy. It features a theater, sauna and gym. The property took five years to build and has never been on the market.
Carey and Packer have the option to purchase the estate.
The couple got engaged last week after dating for nearly one year. The Australian billionaire proposed with a 35-carat diamond ring, which is larger than than Kim Kardashian and Beyonce’s rings combined.
Carey and her ex Cannon, who share custody of their 4-year-old twins Monroe and Moroccan, finalized their divorce in April 2015 after almost seven years of marriage. On Friday, the “America’s Got Talent” host congratulated the singer, writing on social media: “#AllLove Congrats to @MariahCarey and James! May God Bless Your Future Union… #GreatPeople #GreatCouple.”
