An active shooting situation has been reported at the Naval Medical Center San Diego in California, according to the hospital’s Facebook page.
The message orders people in the area to “run, hide or fight”.
A SWAT team truck was seen “storming the facility,” according to local station NBC San Diego.
With over 6,500 personnel, the hospital serves wounded soldiers and serves as a training facility for nursing schools in the area, the station reported.
Building 26, where the shots were reported to have been fired, houses barracks for injured soldiers.
All personnel have been asked to stay away from the building.
Three schools in the area are on lockdown. Local and military law enforcement and highway patrol are on the scene.
There have been no reports of injuries.
