A Turkish Airlines spokesman has said no explosives have been found on one of its planes that was diverted to Shannon Airport in the Republic of Ireland after a security threat.
The plane was travelling from Houston in the US to Istanbul when it was diverted after a note bearing the word “bomb” was found in a toilet.
RTÉ said the plane landed at the airport at 11:02 local time on Sunday.
It was met by emergency services.
The airline spokesman said nothing was found in the search of the aircraft after the Boeing 777 was directed to a remote parking location.
Passengers had disembarked and were transported by bus to the airport terminal.
The plane is now due to depart for Istanbul, the airline spokesman added.
The incident is the subject of a follow-up investigation by the police, he said.
