Helayel will stay on to consult on the label’s Banana Republic collaboration through December 2013, but the [...]

Can Lenovo do it?
CEO Yang has high hopes for Lenovo’s products, such as the Yoga, a laptop whose screen can flip over, turning the device into a tablet.
Yuanqing Yang, the CEO of Lenovo, the giant Chinese computer maker, lives on the north end of Beijing in a gated community of McMansions and expansive lawns that seems a world away from the frenetic bustle of the capital city. Yang’s house, built on the shores of a lake, is more French chateau than suburban abode and dwarfs the other homes in the development. One of his deputies called it a [...]

Scientists Find One Gene Responsible For All White Tigers
Science may not be totally sure how the tiger got its stripes, but at least they’ve got this figured out. One team of biologists says it has uncovered the genetic mutation responsible for white tigers.
White tigers have black or brown stripes, white fur, blue eyes, pink noses and pink paw pads. They’re not albino, as they have black-brown pigment in their eyes and in their fur. Scientists knew before that their coloring was recessive—”little a” instead of “big A,” for anyone who remembers high scho [...]

García race row reignited by Tour chief’s ‘coloured’ remark
George O’Grady, chief executive of the European Tour, has apologised after he risked worsening the racism storm surrounding Sergio García by referring to black people as “coloured”.
